This tripod came in a kit with my D90. It works. Really I don’t know how much you can expect for a cheap tripod. It holds my D90 and the small, light lenses I have. It’s awful for video unless you just want to point your camera at something and not adjust it. I wouldn’t trust it at 57″, because essentially you have a long center pole that you raise up, and then you extend two sets of legs to reach that height, but there’s little stability even at minimum height. You’re asking for trouble if put your investment at risk on a tripod like this.

That said I’ve been using it for months and nothing has broken, nor has it failed. With gentle use, it’s a decent tripod for the price.

It’s laughable that the box says “Pro Series” on it. I’m a professional graphic designer, so I’m around professional photographers and videographers all the time, and this thing literally wouldn’t last a day in a studio.

I agree with reviewer D. Ball about the quality of this thing; the only reason I can give it two stars instead of one is because of the price. I was at a local electronics store and had to get a tripod for home use; this one was $20 and I gladly would have paid twice the price for something sturdier, but this was all they had. I’m hoping I can get a couple of years out of it if I’m careful, but I could literally break most of the parts with my bare hands easily if I wanted to.

This tripod was supposed to be at least standard duty and full size- what a joke. This tripod would be better off in the toy department at Walmart. It claims to have a fluid head which is entirely untrue. The head is basically a locking head designed by using tension to tighten it tighter and tighter as you turn the handly of the arm. The reason they claim it has a fluid head at all is because it is designed so that it does not immediately lock up and with some stress you can raise and lower the arm adjusting your camera, scope, and etc. The tripod itself is so light it can be broken at almost any of the ribbets by mild stress. Not solid- too flexible to have any stability for any use except maybe for backpacking -it would better than nothing if you wanted to hike with it, that is if you do not break it.
